This is just a fun post; don’t take any of it too serious.
That said, when I started my brotherhood-multibase project, I took some time to play around with my single-based knights before multibasing them. What would it be like to have an old-fashioned bretonnian lance formation of 24 knights? Well; the answer is above.
And then I remembered, there was a time I actually used to field regiments such as these. (Warhammer 4th edition a lance of 21 knights of the realm + champion was 860-ish points). It didn’t work, but looked awesome.
Just to show how big it actually is:

But 24 knights can be fielded in a myriad of differnent ways.
Here’s the 24 knights in a 8*3 or 12*2 formation. Looks rather impressive, not? Poor skeletons….
But I’d rather field them in a lance formation. Here’s the above lance formation AND and alternative lance formation that is more wide and therefore has more men in the actual combat formation.
I like the last one best and -while I do love the Kings of War multibase options-, I’d love to have a 17,5*15mm option for cavalry for multibase purposes.
(Disclaimer, I can understand why this is not practical for gaming purposes and I do understand the reasons not to do so, but still…. It’d look so pretty…..)
Is there anything you would like to see in Kings of War? And how does this affect your multibasing/diorama?
Edit: There was a hobby section in this post too. As I couldn’t find my hobby post only just a week later to expand on it, I’d figure to give it a post of it’s own. it’s here.
