Monster March hobby update (2)

Just a short hobby update on Monster March. Last week I haven’t had much hobby time (as predicted) but I did get something done on the dragon.

The picture above shows my WIP zombie dragon. As you can see, the base colours have been painted and I did the first layers of highlights.

Here’s the beast from behind. The wings now show the vibrant green I want for base colour (it’s layered from green-grey onwards) which now can be shaded and then highlighted to its final colours.

I’ve also painted a few test models to see which colour shade I should use. I tried to shade the green with blue (no success) so it’ll be black in the recesses. The dragon itself will be shaded with green ink as this will show the magical nature of the beast.

Then the cursed rider.

The rider just’s got its base coat. Why is he cursed? Because he’s a vampire?

Not really. The model has been on my painting desk for too many times; but each time I touch it with a paint brush, my youngest child (a baby of three months) starts crying….. I guess she really doesn’t like daddy working on this model…..

For instance, the below picture shows the 3rd try to get the armour painted. It’s still not finished. Oh well, next week another try. But first, there needs to be done some work in the houses’ front yard.
