First things first, it’s March already. Like last year, I’ll be continueing the Monster March tradition, though I think I’m one of the few who do.
My entry this year is a goblin on dragon. It’s one of these fantastic models that JP made for me, which asks for a very good paint job!
The model has been stripped, it’s a composite of an old dragon plus Hobla Khan, an ancient Warhammer Dogs of War model!
In Kings of War, this model has no counterpart. I think I will run him as a combat-wingit, which is the closest thing he can be.
Armada Dictator done!
I finished up my dicator model for Armada! Now I have one of each ship ready to sail the seas! Lovely model, though it’s taken ages to paint!
Other models – sharpsticks
I recently completed half a sharpstick horde. Though I failed my goal of finishing the 2nd regiment for the Dortsche Krijgsheren Tournament, I managed to paint 7 more goblins and add these to the 3 already finished for a half-filled regiment. The unit is temporary supplemented by rabble which I had laying around unused, until I can paint the remaining 5-ish models.
The base looks wonderful and the combined horde will look fine once it’s finished.
Other models – Guinee warrior
My 7-year old daughter is currently obsessed with our Guinee pigs. As she likes to join me painting, she requested Guinee models. I found a 3d printing artist which made them, so we painted up a few together!
On the right is my contribution. It’s not the best model or the bet print ever, but it’s nice to do something together!
Painting tally:
A reoccuring part of this blog is the where I keep track of my minis waiting for paint, counting my number of newly accrued miniatures compared to those actually finished!
- start 42
- painted +9
- 7 lupps’ retinue goblins
- one armada dictator
- one Guinee warrior
- 1 new model, the guinee warrior.
- Total: 50
There’s plenty of space to buy new models, and I have to purge my collection for 3d prints which I will never paint, which will create even more room. This means I bought a couple of boxes of humans. My Perry pikemen (seen here, 3rd row next to the swordsmen) will be expanded into a horde and I bought a set of frostgrave female soldiers to build some battle sisters.
