Monster March Progress

Last month, I started Monster March in honour of an ancient tradition. Currently, I have little time to paint, so the model is painted slow-and-steady. As of now, the model is halfway done, here’s the current WIP:

Goblins

I painted seven goblins, to conclude my phalanx regiment from last month. Also, I converted my very own Magwa and Jo’os from the Goblin Ambush set. The original model is pretty mediocre, Mantic’s very own plastics provide a better Mag’wa.

The end result is pretty nice:

These sharpsticks are a great addition to my goblin army!

Other projects

I found a custom-built sorceress from my mordheim days which was almost finished somewhere in the first years of this millenium. For my dungeon saga game, I finally completed it.

Furthermore, I painted up another mawpup token. I need new ones from time to time as I give them away to opponents at tournaments. Currently, my stock has run out so I might need to buy another ambush set at one time to get a few more. (my goblins are running out too, have a few left for a chariot project I’ll be doing one day)

Basing day:

“Chosen men” is still in the back of my painting tray. From time to time, I revisit the painted models and this month I managed to complete the bases for my light infantry. The riflemen were based some time ago.

To complete my skirmish force, I just need that cannon done. Eventually!

New Models

There’s too many new models! I bought a set frostgrave female soldiers to scratch-build Basilean sisterhood. It’s a project that’s been sidelined as soon as the models arrived due to another project:

With the new phalanx rules, pike-and-shot armies suddenly become slightly viable again. I might not have been able to resist another box of Perry mercenaries to build as pikemen, so here they are:

That’s a grand total of 60 (shrudder) new models!

Painting tally:

A reoccuring part of this blog is the where I keep track of my minis waiting for paint, counting my number of newly accrued miniatures compared to those actually finished!

Though I have no room for new models, I’m still in the black. Unfortunately, there’s already new 3d prints on the way as I want a 2nd Armada fleet. Moreover, I want to experiment with chariots, both for my Basileans and for my goblins. But that’s a story for another time!
