Painting without focus

First things first! I completed my goblin army! YaY!

For this, I only needed my 2nd regiment of fleabags. Here’s them finished!

It’s six original fleabags plus one mounted flaggit from vanguard. Apparently, I forgot to finish the basing in this picture, something I have remedied later. Together with my original fleabags, they can be fielded as a horde:

I really love how they turned out! Yellow and blue is a nice combination and they look comically fierce!

After I finished the fleabags, I did a number of small projects. Since I had no real need to focus anything, I just went with whatever I had in my bit box for “some moment”. Apparently, this was that moment.

On the right is my mini for a DnD character. Tom the nature-warlock (pact of the blade) has been without a proper mini for quite some time and a GW greatsword with head swap provided one.

Then, on the left is a single Perry Twins 1805-1815-ish rifleman. A friend of mine have been talking of playing chosen men for years now. I did buy the book and made a skirmish force of british flank companies supplemented by riflemen. After he presented me with his painted cannon (below) I went ahead and ordered my force.

While the package is underway, I painted this rifleman I found in my bit box. More to come, later!

Likewise, I’ve been toying with an ogre ambush list since we played ambush in the spring of this year. A 750 point ambush list for ogres is only 12 models. (might post the army list later on). As our gaming group owns the northern ogres stl’s, printing them is cheap too.

The model on the right is a a test model. After my blue goblins, I wanted to try out alternative coloured ogres.

While the model is great, I probably will test another colour as well before deciding on a colour scheme.

My painting results are:

  • Seven fleabags, including a mounted flaggit
  • one dnd mini
  • one blue ogre hunter
  • one rifleman

for a total of 10 miniatures

I acquired three new ogre models. One of which is now blue. Two to go.

Totaling:

  • start 7
  • painted +10
  • new models -3
  • Total = 14
