MonsterMarch 2023 finished!

I finished not only one, but TWO goblin blasters this month of Monster March! That’s another run of #MonsterMarch completed! (Four in a row now! YaY)

Last week, the first goblins blaster was close to being finished. After some assembly, this made the leftmost model.

The 2nd blaster, however, was just in its early stages. This week was spent fanatically painting, basing and completing the crew. Here’s the model in its pre-highlight stages:

The Final results’s here, I made a gallery for your convenience:

What’s next?

As all good things come in threes, the same applies to the goblin blaster. One’s fun, two is great and three is a (duh) blast! As I am on a roll with these steam-engines, I just continue painting the 3rd blaster. The model is in its early stages, though the crew is finished already!

Painting tally – I might have made a mistake.

A reoccuring part of this blog is the where I keep track of my minis waiting for paint, counting my number of newly accrued miniatures compared to those actually finished! The last few weeks, my brother got his hands on a 3d printer. Nice for the blaster’s wheels, but the temptation to get new minis was a little too much.

I might have ordered a horde-and-a-half of the Sunland imperial troops after I got my brother the 3d files. That’s 46 new miniatures, including double command. Also, there’s two pegasi-mounted wizards too. (i’ll leave the wizards as I don’t intend to use them). Also, 3 new balista’s have been printed.

Also, I have ordered a few models to complete my goblin army. As my goblin army still needs a 2nd regiment of fleabags and a handful of luggits to fill out my 2nd regiment, I did order:

  • 10 fleabags
  • 1 fleabag mounted flaggit
  • vanguard pack (2) luggits

This is a whopping 64 new miniatures. Ai, when will I be painting all these?

What I did paint was:

  • 2 goblin blasters (5 models each)
  • 6 crew

for a total of 16 miniatures

Totaling:

  • start +25
  • painted + 16
  • new models -64
  • Total = -/- 23

I have been in the “negative” before (usually after a tournament) and this requires me to paint a lot of new miniatures before commiting to buy new ones. This is exactly the situation at this moment.

As I am getting close to finishing the goblin army, I’m looking for new projects to finish afterwards. The halberdiers look very temtping, but there’s also the option of building the newly printed balistas. These combine well with the ancient Warhammer spearmen for crew, which I still have dozens laying around. It might well be that I’ll be painting one balista + crew first.

  1. Looks fantastic! Don’t know a lot about KoW, but the blasters remind me a bit of Snotling Pumpwagons.
Also, I don’t see blue goblins often, somehow works really well!

    1. thanks a lot! The goblin blasters are kind of a bomb truck. Park in an enemy unit, blow it to smithereens and take your enemy with you! a very fun unit to use!
