August hobby update

It’s only been two weeks since my last hobby update, so predictable there’s little new models painted. I did finish my Goblin horde multibase, which is more than enough for a blog post on its own! Here’s them:

I love the result. The clear, bright daylight pictures do them justice too!

Other projects

I also finished a pair of dungeon saga heroes. As you may know, I play this game with my daughter and I love to build custom heroes for our games!

These are a combination of 3d printed members of the “fighter’s guild” and plastic weapons from my bits box. I love the gunner girl and the two-weapon muscle man!

that’s all for now! The painting table is quite full, but nothing else is actually finished!

Painting tally

A reoccuring part of this blog is the where I keep track of my pile of shame counting the number of newly accrued miniatures compared to those actually finished! Recently, I did a tally for the past year, and I’m pretty proud of the results!

This time, the amount of newly painted models was limited to two Dungeon saga heroes.

I did gain a few new models, though:

  • I bought a new box of goblins (20 and a mawpup)
  • Also, I did buy two new boxes of vampires-to-be. (paladins on foot). This a whopping 40 new models!
  • Also, one of the new dungeon saga heroes was a new model.
  • and -good news- the Armada Basilean War altar that was perceived lost, has been refound! How on earth it got into the box with my Vanguard warband, no one knows, but I’m glad it’s back! I may even finish the paint job one of these days.

That’s a grand total of 63 new models!

Totaling:

  • start +69
  • painted + 2
  • new models -63
  • Total = +8

Last time, I did a buying spree, I ended up far negative. The fact that I restrained myself a bit this time proves that this system works!
