Even Moar Gobz – hobby

Last week I finished an in-between project – the swamp queen. Before that, I worked on my goblins. These goblins are kind of a strange project. As I have already several finished armies, the goblin project is lacking any kind of urgency that other projects have. I have no goal for them, nor a place to play them anytime soon.

The army started as a detachment to my undead army in which I tried some new basing and a new blue-ish colour scheme. Back in march 2020, the army was almost 1,000 points, it only needed 3 more trolls to be finished. And for more than a year and a half, it stayed that way.

So recently, I finished the trolls, but they still had not been based until now. So without further adoo:

My 1,000 points army is finally completed! YaY.

At the same time, I also finished basing my luggits:

Two troops make a regiment and therefore an additional unlock, so my army can probably be expanded to 1,250 or 1,300 points! Even more yay!

Basing these minis finally completed, I returned to painting my minis. I still have a few goblins to paint. (42 by my count)

As seen here, I finished up two more goblin rabble. As my goal here is 30, I still need to paint quite a few to get there. (I think I’m at 8 or so at the moment)

I also started on my mawpup launcher. It’s a fun little model which should be part of most goblin armies anyhow.

The model is just in its basecoat, so some progress here will be needed.

All, in, there’s ben quite a bit of progress and I’m, really content. That said, the progress on the goblins will probably halt for a bit.

As there will be a tournament , four weeks from now, I will need to start playtesting armies. As Clash 22 (I still refuse to call it COK) has arrived at my doorstep, I’m busy pondering army builds.

For now, the idea is to build an alpha-strike KoM army built around a lot of knights, a horde of beast cavalry, two flying generals and a monarch.

The trouble is, I don’t own a human dragon. A mate of mine promised to print an alternative, but the question remains if there’s enough time to get the model done.

The alternative is a very old & ugly GW dragon which does need a new rider.

I based two regiments. This doesn’t count. Furthermore I paitned up two miniatures.

• total -1.

….. Still need to finish that dragon or mawpup launcher to get at zero. Drat……
