Last month , I started on my new “abyssal” berserkers. As these will be the new mainstay of my Swamp things army, I need a few more. Fortunately, I managed to paint up another 8 of them. They are based as 2 hordes which are magnetized as regiments:

This means I can field up to 3 hordes or 6 regiments as it is. Since I haven’t yet decided on a final army list for Dortsche Krijgsheren, this flexibility helps out!
Armada
Other than that, I built a new Armada fleet. Previously, I painted a test model for my Salamanders. Using contrasts, they were easily painted, which is great since they are my 2nd fleet for demo purposes.

Currently, the fleet consists of two medium battle ships and two each of the small and medium support ship. The fleet easily reaches 150 points, which is more than enough for demo battles. (I usually do 100 points for starters)
The 100 point fleet is easy:

Compared to other miniature games, I love how easy it is to get into Armada. Printing four ships should not cost more than EUR 20 for those with Mantic Vault access, EUR 35 for those without. Painting them is four hours’ worth, if you are content to paint them at tabletop level, so that’s a very low entry barier too!
A final hobby project was a bit of Armada terrain, also freely available on the Vault!

This makes for a nice addition to the game!
Painting tally:
A reoccuring part of this blog is the where I keep track of my minis waiting for paint, counting my number of newly accrued miniatures compared to those actually finished!
the painted models in this page total to 13 models:
- 5 ships. (one was a test model finished earlier)
- 8 berserkers
I got 8 new models
- 7 ships. (4 newly painted medium ships, two tiny ships and the extra large salamander boat)
- 1 abyssal fiend-stand-in hydra
Totalling:
- start +16
- painted +13
- new models -8
- Total: +23
I have some room for new models, but as I still have enough berserkers to last me one more month, I’ll see what happens.
