Easter hobby update – finishing up stuff.

As I recently finished my #MonsterMarch entry, this weekend was time for tidying stuff up. spoken about #MonsterMarch, here’s the final blog post from the challenges’ host Swordmaster. I mean, seriously, how do people find time to paint a whole army in a month?

I managed to finish 2 goblin blasters. Great models, but while having two blasters is a (duh) blast, there’s something lacking: number three. This weekend, I finished this model:

At the end of this blog post, I’ll repost images of all three. They are similar, but each unique too so that they are fun to paint!

I also found time to paint another small project. Last post, I wrote about using the ancient Warhammer spearmen for balista crew. Here’s the two models together with their balista. It still needs a base, but otherwise, it’s finished!

What next?

My goblin army still needs a regiment of fleabags, a mounted king and a few luggits. That said, i’m a bit tired of painting goblins and I might be painting a few more humans these days.

I also wrote getting ‘a few’ 3d printed Imperial sunland halberdiers. Here’s is one built and primed:

As you can see, the print is crisp and very high quality. The model is also half a head bigger than the Warhammer spearman (which also wasn’t small to begin with), so I’m afraid we’ve officially left 28mm for 32mm for 35(?) mil by now. That said, I love the details on the models and I’m not gonna lose them by scaling these down.

Painting tally

I did paint:

• 1 goblin blasters (counts as 5 models)
• 1 balista
• 2 crewmen

for a total of 9 miniatures

Also, I gave a set of a balista + 2 crew away. The 3d printer will create new balistas soon enough and I had plenty crew laying around.

No new minatures.

Totaling:

• start -/- 23
• painted + 9
• gave away +3
• new models 0
• Total = -/- 11

Still in the negative. The negative is far less than before though and If I continue painting at the current speed, I’ll be at break even soon enough!
