Winter goblin blues

The first weeks of the new year have passed and the goblins are progressing nicely. This blog shows my progress on my goblin army.

First of all, I started by painting a goblin king. I love the Groany Snark, so I made it a special model. For 100 points, it can work wonders (but as often it does barely nothing), so it’s a great tandem with all those other goblin stuff that can either do wonders or do nothing at all.

The model is a 3d print ed Vampire of Strachenfell printed at 80% and with a goblin head swap. I put the model on a high ledge as it’s terribly fragile so I need something to hold on.

suffice to say, I dropped it on the first battle I played and need to reattach the wings.

The army

the army is progressing nicely, it’s in its fourth or fifth incarnation at this moment. I might post the army list and its iterations one of these days.

The 2nd model I finished these days is another mawpup launcher. I love the model and it was a breeze to paint!

Then, my lovely daugthers wanted to join their dad in his hobby. The result… predictably pink and blue warriors. Well, fortunately, they are either 3d prints that I can get another time or a model so ancient that it barely matters.

But then again, it’s been wonderful to share the hobby with my children, even though the results are a bit…. pink.

New projects

I started looking for a miniature to work on during Monster March. (for those in the know, Swordsmaster presents this challenge yearly) As I still need goblin blasters, I chose a 3d print for this model. The 3d print is lovely, but just barely cannot fit on a 50×100 mm base, so it has to be reduced in size. My friend who always prints these things has started printing one at 80%, we’ll see the results!

My tally

A reoccuring part of this blog is the where I keep track of my minis waiting for paint, counting my number of newly accrued miniatures compared to those actually finished!

We painted 7 new models:

  • 1 goblin king
  • 1 mawpup launcher (counts as three)
  • 3 purple warriors that my girls painted.

I didn’t buy anything new.

Totaling:

  • start +18
  • painted + 7
  • new models -0
  • Total = 25
