Hobby update – fall painting

As the weather turns fall-y (rainly, windy and generally unpleasant) it’s a good time for painting. Progress is still limited, but that’s okay since painting this way is really stress-less which is nice! Also, my goblins are just a hobby project with no timer, so there’s no stress to get them ready.

Yesterday, I finished my luggits, painting five additional Mantic luggit models (lovely models!) and a converted banner bearer. I converted it from a Mantic goblin with GW state troop Empire parts. I really love the banner, combining Empire state troops aestetics with a goblin face icon! I’ll try to get a more closeup next time!

Other than that, it’s just one more rabbler, a wizz and a pair of mawpups. Finally the first luggit regiment’s models are finished. (I aim for two regiments, but let’s finish this one and the rabble horde first).

Now onwards to basing! Not only need the luggits a base, my trolls need one too and there’s two mawpup counters that are still on their blank bases as well.

About Basing……

Back in 2019, I painted a vampire on undead dragon for Monster March. In 3rd edition KoW, this model is no longer on a 50×50, but on a 75×75 instead.

I’ve never taken the time to rebase him because, frankly, titans weren’t worth the points this edition. With the upcoming Clash ’22 edition, this may change.

Since I’m gonna be basing my luggits and trolls anyhow, it’s easy to build one additional 75×75. So, I cut up my old 50×50 base glued the dragon on a 75×75. Here’s the model with his new base with sand, it just needs painting.

Painting tally

Last post, my painting tally was -14. I keep track of my painting tally due to an agreement with myself en my wife to limit the amount of new miniatures. So coming from almost minus 40 models, we’re slowly going into the green again!

This post presents 6 newly painted luggits (there’s a few duplicates on the pictures. I had nine, now 15 so there’s 6 new), 2 mawpups, a rabble and a wizz for a total of 10 newly painted miniatures!

So only four more models to be away from the negative numbers. This means if I paint a few more, I can finally look into buying a few new models for the upcoming holidays! But no more regiments or hordes!

That said, I heard Kingdoms of men will gain access to a new titan and I *might* look into a model to represent him!
